Barbara Raes

Barbara Raes (BE) studied Art and Theatre Studies at the Ghent University. She was a dance programmer at art centre Vooruit (Ghent) from 2000 to 2007. For Vooruit she developed an experimental program with focus on performance art and interdisciplinary projects. From 2007 to 2011 she worked in Kortrijk to co-create the new arts centre BUDA. From 2011 onwards she was the artistic director of Vooruit, where, under her leadership, transition and ecology have become one of the priorities. Since September 2014 she has started a macrotransiency in FoAM Brussels. Her main interests for this residency are transition, resilience, rites of passages, arts and celebrancy, soul midwifery, storytelling and lots of magic.
