We need help testing our new app for people who grow or want to grow multispecies swards!

The app does these things:

  • Traits lists for sward species, to help pick which are best to sow, with links to the scientific research
  • Simple tap-through plant ID keys
  • Field surveying system to monitor which species are growing
  • Visualisations of overall field biodiversity, and how each species is performing over time

The app is free, non-profit, and open source, and you can read more about it here.

We're looking for beef/dairy/sheep farmers, and anyone else who's interested - we'll talk you through the project and the app, help you install it, then ask you to try it out and report back. We're looking for anything that doesn't work or doesn't make sense, so we can polish the final version before releasing it in December 2020.

There are different sessions, which will all run online - you'll need an android phone to participate:

24 Nov, 18:00-19:00 (UK time): Introduction to the project and app (mainly for young farmers but all welcome)

26 Nov, 18:00-19:00 (UK time): Feedback session on issues with the app (mainly for young farmers but all welcome)

27 Nov, 18:00-19:00 (UK time): Feedback session on issues with the app (all welcome)
